Katherine Waterston signed to costar with Eddie in Fantastic Beasts

“Inherent Vice” actress Katherine Waterston has landed one of the female leads opposite Redmayne in the first installment of the new franchise, which is being planned as a trilogy.
Waterston will play the pivotal role of Tina, short for Porpentina, a witch who — unlike the beloved characters
from Rowling’s Harry Potter books — works her magic in the U.S. She meets magizoologist Newt Scamander
(Redmayne) when he stops in New York City on his travels to find and document magical creatures.
Two pivotal roles in the film have yet to be cast: Queenie, Tina’s younger sister, and Jacob, a rival of Scamander’s.
The studio is said to be looking for more established faces for the spinoff, unlike the newcomers they discovered
for the original “Harry Potter” more

Waterston made her feature debut in the George Clooney film MICHAEL CLAYTON and has since appeared in movies like THE BABYSITTERS, BEING FLYNN, NIGHT MOVES, THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ELEANOR RIGBY, and most recently Paul Thomas Anderson's INHERENT VICE. (x)
Waterston can be seen next in Universal’s biopic “Jobs.” - Her IMDB page
Saoirse Ronan, Dakota Fanning, Lili Simmons and Alison Sudol are still in contention for Porpentina's younger sister, Queenie.
Greg Silverman, Warner Bros. President of creative development and worldwide production, said of Waterston’s casting:
"Katherine Waterston is a rising star, who was a revelation in our filmInherent Vice, earning the praise of both critics and audiences. We are thrilled to have her back in the Warner Bros. family, especially in one of our most anticipated titles for 2016, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” (x)

Regarded as the world authority on magical creatures, Newt Scamander is the author of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which has been an approved textbook at Hogwarts since its publication in 1927 and can be found in most wizarding households. (x)

“I would like to take this opportunity to reassure Muggle purchasers that the amusing creatures described hereafter are fictional and cannot hurt you.To wizards, I say merely: Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus.”

Many earlier casting news confused the names of Tina and Qeenie (a false info spread on the web). I wrote older and younger sister in my previous related post, because I didn't know for sure which one is which. It turned out, that Tina is the older sister. I'm not sure, but I think the info that Katherine first auditioned for Queenie is false too, maybe it's the aftermath of the previous confusion.
My opinion is based on this tweet:
