 How are you? -

I'm so well. I'm just pinching myself.

I got these clawing marks all over my arm.

...that you get to play as extraordinary parts as Stephen Hawking, it's really...
You can’t believe, that’s allowed.

She's your wife? ...Hannah, a pleasure...

Happy Wedding Anniversary to Eddie and Hannah!

Eddie Redmayne interviewed on the red carpet (x)
If you could be in any other period film, that’s already been made,
and you could be the star of it, what would you like to be in?

…I’m kind of into like nineteen twenties, thirties, the jazz period.
I’d love to get into a bit of that, you know ... Maybe a bit of prohibition
stuff and get the braces on, and pull them out, that would be ideal. (x)

Would you rather live in an English castle, or a penthouse?

Oh, I'm so embarrassed...penthouse. I's always been a bit of a fantasy.
One of those... Have you seen that film 'The Devil's Advocate'?
Amazing film! There's a skyscraper with just a pool of water. The entire
thing's like an infinity pool. It's kind of ...the Devil lives there in that film...

First Look image from 'The Crimes of Grindelwald' via EW

The first official promo from the upcoming Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald was
released by Warner Bros. via EW. In an exclusive first-look image, we see Newt (Eddie Redmayne)
in a sewer tunnel system, with his attention fixed on… something...

Eddie revealed to EW, that he has been stricken with an affliction that the cast has dubbed
Wand Shoulder Strain. “It’s from doing some quite hardcore wand action,” Redmayne says of
the magical world’s characteristic spell-casting gestures, “but I’m not getting any better for it.”

Bonus: In a second new photo, this one from behind the scenes, we see Redmayne
hanging out backstage with his costar Jude Law, who plays Albus Dumbledore.

“The first film had a level of whimsy; the characters felt like children in grown-up bodies,”
notes director David Yates. “In this movie, it gets grittier and more nuanced and detailed.
It’s quite a romantic film, it’s a thriller, it’s quite an interesting combination of genres
you rarely see together. I think it will surprise people.”

News: Eddie Redmayne to read Christmas Day CBeebies bedtime story

The news was announced by the BBC’s director-general Lord Tony Hall during a speech
at the Children’s Global Media Summit in Manchester on Tuesday. “In fact – we haven’t
announced it yet – but I can tell you that we’ve now got two other great British stars lined
up to read bedtime stories over the festive period: Eddie Redmayne on Christmas Day,
and Emily Watson on Boxing Day,” he said. (source:
CBeebies Bedtime Stories are shown at 6:50pm every evening as part of
the Bedtime Hour. The story is read by a different celebrity every night.

Emily Watson was Eddie's co-star in The Theory of Everything. She played Jane's mother.

Personal note:
Before Iris was born I sent a book to Eddie and his family.
This was a collection of Hungarian fairy tales (translated
to English) from the great story-teller Elek Benedek.
My generation basically grew up on his tales here, they
were among our first readings. I hope he, Hannah and Iris
like the stories.
Eddie mentioned in an interview last year, that they already
read tales to Iris. "…we’ve been given lots of kids books and
it’s that wonderful thing of…sort of willing…we’re already
reading at her and she just stares and kind of burps…you
know…but it’s kind of more… it’s just wonderful to go back
into that world. I think reading is so important. I think what
J.K. Rowling did, you know really reenergized the world
about how reading is so important."

For Julianne Moore's Birthday

“Julianne has has this extraordinary capacity to throw herself at a situation in a specific moment, and
it comes from - as Tom (Kalin) was saying - can come from laughter beforehand, and often chatting
about nothing suddenly she’s there, and it punches you in the stomack…” - Eddie Redmayne
