Charlie Redmayne about his "little brother" - new covers and recently found outtakes

Charlie Redmayne, CEO of Harper Collins gave an interview yesterday in the BBCradio4 morning news program
(Whole interview starting at 22:32 and briefly talked about Eddie too from 27:05).
Podcast available here for limited time. He likes to tell funny stories like his "little brother". (via)

My little brother Eddie, of whom we’re immensely proud. And obviously I’m the better looking and more talented half.
I look nothing like him. But it does throw out some challenges. I was traveling back from Toronto just after he won his Oscar, and and I was checking into the BA lounge, and I handed my boarding pass over and the lady looks up and says, ‘Any relation to to Eddie?’ And I said, ‘Yes, he’s my little brother.’ And she looks at me and smiles rather patronizingly and says, ‘Yeah right.’ And that was that. Of Eddie, big brother Charlie says: “he’s annoyingly nice, and he works incredibly hard.”

Hello!: Prince William and Eddie Redmayne reunited at polo match (update 04.07.2015)
Prince William and Eddie Redmayne may have lost touch since their schooldays together at Eton, but the pair were finally reunited at a polo match on Friday. Eddie and his wife Hannah Bagshawe headed to the 2015 Audi Polo Challenge to support the players, including the Duke of Cambridge who was competing in the fundraising event.
After the match was over, William went to greet the Oscar-winning actor, and the pair were soon joking around as they enjoyed a catch-up. Eddie also took the opportunity to introduce his old school friend to new wife Hannah for the first time, and the trio were soon laughing and chatting away during the sunny afternoon at Cambridge County Polo Club.
No doubt they had a lot to talk about, with recent months marking major milestones for both of them....

Eddie as the MC in Cabaret at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2001

I AM YOUR HOST: Eddie Redmayne as the MC in Cabaret at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival at the age of 19. His grandmother’s recollection:

Mrs Burke said of his 2001 Fringe performance at the Underbelly in the Cowgate:
“I saw him, but I didn’t recognise him. He was wearing so much make-up.”

Speaking from her home in the Gracemount area of Edinburgh, Mrs Burke said the show cemented the expectation that Redmayne would become a successful actor. “It wasn’t so much that we could see he was a promising actor,
just that he was an actor, it was as simple as that,” she said. “He was always performing, even as a young boy.”
Redmayne has previously credited his acting success to the Fringe performance in the early years of the Underbelly, saying the “grotty, grimy venue” was where he “really got the bug” for acting.
Mrs Burke told The Scotsman that her “close knit family” was “thrilled” that Redmayne – one of six grandchildren –
had won the accolade. “I’m delighted, absolutely delighted,” she said. “It was a lot of hard work for him preparing for
[the role]. I have been watching the coverage of the Oscars on and off all day, I’m very proud. His grandfather would have been very proud too.”
Mrs Burke is the mother of Patricia Redmayne, Eddie’s mother who studied at the University of Edinburgh before moving to London and marrying Richard Redmayne. Mrs Redmayne runs a relocation business while her husband
is a London city banker.

Ed Bartlam, director of the Underbelly, said Redmayne’s Fringe performance in Cabaret still “stuck in his head”, 14 years on. “It was our second year at Underbelly so we were very much finding our feet and it was all very atmospheric,” he said. “Eddie was a slightly creepy Master of Ceremonies in the show and would come up behind people’s backs in the audience and get a fantastic reaction.”
The show was performed by Doubled Edged Drama, a production company with links to Eton, Redmayne’s former school. “He had left Eton by then and this was one of his first performances, and I’m sure his first Fringe performance,” said Mr Bartlam. “I still remember it as one of the best shows we ever did. Eddie also had a lot of love for performing
at the Fringe and still keeps in touch occasionally to see how we’re getting on.”

‘We were on the same Colts B team in 1997,’ Redmayne has recalled. ‘I always felt slightly sorry for Will because everyone wanted to tackle the future King of England. He took all the hits. ‘I’m pretty sure Will was more intimidating than I was. I don’t think I intimidated anyone in my life. I haven’t seen him since school, but he was a lovely man.’

New York premiere of 'The Theory of Everything'

The Hollywood Reporter:
For playing a debilitating theoretical physicist who is confined to a wheelchair and must use a computer to speak in
The Theory of Everything, Eddie Redmayne was nothing short of animated, jumpy and incredibly chatty at the film's
New York City premiere on Monday night. The Gucci-suited star of theStephen Hawking biopic waved to friends as
they walked behind the line of reporters to the Museum of Modern Art's theater, and even paused during an interview
on the red carpet to greet Uma Thurman, who enthusiastically introduced him to her daughter, Maya.
"The overriding thing when you meet him is this wit," Redmayne, attending with fiancée Hannah Bagshawe, told
The Hollywood Reporter of Hawking. "There's a glint in his eye, a mischief or a Lord of Misrule quality, which is extraordinary. That's the one thing I tried to capture."...read more

...“I saw more of the subtleties and the virtuoso stuff Felicity was doing,” Redmayne said. “It’s interesting, because when you’re acting with another actor on a film set, you see something different than you see on camera. Only later
do you realize how extraordinary their work was.”...

On the red carpet for the 'The Theory of Everything,' Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones talk about
the Oscar buzz surrounding their movie, and Redmayne comments on transforming himself
physically for acting roles. (Oct. 21)

..."Stephen asked me if I was playing him before the voice machine, and when I said yes, he said, ‘My voice was very slurred.' At that time, the producers were a bit scared of getting to a place of incomprehensibility, because they didn’t want subtitles. But when Stephen said that, it re-invigorated me to go back and say ‘Look, we have to be true to what this disease is.’"...
...Eddie Redmayne was dead set on staying true to his portrayal of Stephen Hawking, which means that in addition to perfecting the speech patterns themselves, he had to discipline his body to be able to move and hold his body in the same fashion that Hawking did at various times in his life....
...From the looks of Hawking's final judgment of the film being "broadly true," as well as his being brought to tears by The Theory Of Everything, it's a safe bet that Eddie Redmayne's efforts have been a most successful venture....
