Omega House opening at Rio 2016 on 6th August


On Saturday 6th August 2016, Eddie Redmayne, the Oscar-winning actor and OMEGA brand ambassador, was the guest of honour at the Opening Night of OMEGA House in Rio de Janeiro. He was accompanied by American actress Camilla Belle and Torben Grael, Brazil’s most decorated Olympic Games medallist.

"Well, it's only seven weeks in, but it's amazing. It's wonderful," he said. "All of the stuff you've heard for years, it's all true but utterly extraordinary."
"We were given the opportunity of coming to Rio; I've never been to South America. The notion of coming to Brazil and Rio was extraordinary. And the idea of bringing Iris on her first trip abroad to the Olympics in Brazil was too much of an extraordinary opportunity to turn down."...
Eddie also revealed that he and Hannah have taken the chance to explore the city together. "We went up to the Christ the Redeemer and had a look over the city at night which was, for both my wife and I, unlike anything we'd ever seen," he said. "But actually, all you need to do in Rio is just sit on Copacabana and let it all wash over you. In my case, apply at lot of sun cream! But generally, just try and take in the atmosphere by osmosis."...
