'MACUSA' featurette and writing from J.K. Rowling on Pottermore

The Magical Congress of the United States of America examines MACUSA’s place in American history.
"After the Potter books, this was always where I was interested in going.
If I ever did anything, this is what I wanted to do." - J.K. Rowling

Early Man is in Production!

It’s official….Nick Park’s latest movie “Early Man” is IN PRODUCTION! Dug and Hognob wanted to do something
to celebrate - they’ve kept it short and snappy! Early Man is arriving in cinemas 2018 A.D. (credit: Aardman)

United Voices confirmed, that we can hear Eddie in the clip:

Nick Park is back! The Oscar-winning animator and creator of the much-loved Wallace and Gromit films has
– after more than a decade away – returned to the director's chair. Work on his latest feature, Early Man,
has now begun at Aardman's studios in Bristol in the U.K., with the first image – and a short video – unveiled
showing the film's hero Dug and his sidekick Hognob. (THR)
We have been promised further casting announcements in the coming weeks. Expect the usual marriage
of wittily eccentric British humour and wholly hand-crafted stop-motion animation when Early Man arrives
in cinemas on 26 January, 2018. (empireonline)

Will Becher Animation Director on @EarlyManMovie 2018 (previously moved Wallace & Gromit
just a little bit, then took a photo). Director #ShauntheSheep Series 5 @Aardman

...Even the quintessentially British actor Eddie Redmayne has a sweet connection to the city – one that helped him prepare for his role as Newt Scamander, the Magizoologist who arrives by boat to New York from England. ‘My grandma went on a boat to Boston via New York, a few years after Newt does,’ he tells me. ‘So she was able to tell me all the specifics of being on one of those boats and that was kind of wonderful.’ - Read more

...Eddie Redmayne is Newt Scamander: David Attenborough meets Buster Keaton
David Yates, director: Newt’s a real sweetheart. He’s obsessed with magical creatures so he’s quite geeky, very knowledgeable, but not very good with people, so he’s a little detached from society and the real world.
Eddie Redmayne: One of the things I love about Newt is that he’s like a good wizard, but he’s not like an extraordinary wizard. Newt goes and finds fantastic beasts that are in danger, because they’re a threat to the statute of secrecy [in the Wizarding World] and he looks after them. He’s quite an idealist. He believes that – with the right education programs – fantastic beasts should be able to exist in magical society...Read more (you must!!! excellent)
