Daily Mail: EDDIE REDMAYNE ROCKS THE TURIN FILM FESTIVAL IN TARTAN PLAID

He’s been garnering Oscar buzz for his knockout performance as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. And Eddie Redmayne was also a winner in the style stakes on Tuesday night as he attended the 32th Turin Film Fesitval in Italy wearing a rather unusual suit.
The 32-year-old Eton-educated actor picked up the Maserati award at the prestigious event.
Eddie cut a dapper figure in his dark green checked suit, which he paired with a navy tie and a white pocket handkerchief that matched his shirt.
The handsome Brit left his fiancée Hannah Bagshawe at home as he mingled with the cinematographic elite at the festival, which opened with the Gemma Arteton-starring Gemma Bovary and closed with Reese Witherspoon’s drama Wild.
Despite his current success, Eddie - who first rose to prominence in 2012 BBC mini series Birdsong - initially struggled to be taken seriously as an actor due to his modelling career. A sign of what’s to come? Eddie is expected to be a shoe-in for an Academy Award nomination.
He told ELLE magazine: ‘I read a review recently that said, “Who knew Eddie Redmayne was more than just a pout?” ‘You think, “Nice you’ve recognised that, but at the same time that’s 10 years of work you’ve just dismissed as pouting.”’

Meanwhile, as well as impressing the critics with his new role as theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking, Eddie also moved the man himself to tears.
British talent: The hunk is also expected to be going up against his friend Benedict Cumberbatch in the Best Actor category, if the early Oscar buzz is to be believed...
