The Trial of the Chicago 7 is NOW on Netflix. This is a very timely
movie
based on real events that took place in 1968-69 in Chicago.
I really enjoyed it, the story, the dialogues, and the cast are awesome.
“Everybody gets their moments, but the cast was completely there for the
other actor
when it wasn’t their day to have a moment, or it wasn’t their week to have a
moment.”
Mark Rylance as William Kunstler and Eddie Redmayne as Tom Hayden in the
courtroom.
Eight defendants vs. The United States of America.
(Michael Keaton), the state of things seems dire for the defense of the
Chicago 7 – their
would-be star witness would not be allowed to take the stand in front of the
jury.
Tom is willing to stand up against the interrogation from Richard
Schultz even
after the prosecutors possess a tape featuring a recording that Kunstler
describes
as “the sound of Tom Hayden starting the Chicago riots.”
"Rennie Davis has just been beaten by the police.
Rennie’s skull has been cracked open…
If (our) blood is going to flow, let it flow all over the city.
If gas is going to be used, let it come down all over Chicago.
We’re going to the convention! Let’s get on the streets!"
The attorney decides to put this thought to the test by playing out what
Tom’s experience in the witness box being cross-examined would be like.
WOW!!! Go watch it on Netflix!
