The “Les Miserables” star tells JHud he thinks his singing teacher was making a fool

out of him as he shows the “Jennifer Hudson Show” host his vocal warm-ups.

JHud asked Eddie if he is able to remove himself from the characters he portrays.

“Fortunately, playing a serial killer, I don’t,” he joked, referencing his role

in the Netflix movie “The Good Nurse” in which he plays real-life convicted

killer and former nurse Charles Edmund Cullen.

Eddie also said he chooses characters based on “instinct.” He explained that he knows

to go for it when he has a feeling that makes him go, “Oh, I got to do this.”

“When you read a script, there’s a moment where you’re seeing the story in your

imagination and then suddenly something happens when you picture yourself in it,”

he said. “And normally, that coincides with the slight lurch feeling in your stomach.”

“Normally the feeling of feeling sick means that’s how I choose,” he joked.

When Jenn asked if he is ever afraid of how he will approach his characters,

Eddie responded, “Always.”
