I went to my local cinema's first screening on Thursday
and I had a great time. I can't wait to see it again.
I will watch the movie in 4DX tomorrow.
This experience will be a first for me, I'm very excited.

Eddie's visit to Tokyo promoting The Secrets of Dumbledore

 

Eddie arrived in Japan on Tuesday 12th April 2022 to promote

Eddie and Jessica Williams attended a Fantastic Beasts fan event in Tokyo Wednesday.

Newt Scamander's Japanese voice Mamoru Miyano joined them on stage.

They brought the magic, and some swivel moves, to the special event.

They were presented with a happy coat. Eddie has a collection of them already.

Eddie joined Jimmy Fallon in NBC's Studio 6B on Wednesday 6th April 2022

“What I love about this one is it feels like it’s sort of a wizarding heist movie, ... 

it’s like Ocean’s Eleven, set in a Wizarding World... And Jude Law, who plays

Dumbledore, is basically George Clooney, and I’m Brad Pitt,...

Obviously, (you) see the similarity — aspirational.”

They talk a little about Eddie's role in Cabaret and his Olivier nomination.

His kids' first musical experience, and Eddie's first musical role in Oliver.

They also talk about the British pack in LA, auditions, and ping-pong.

“Fierce ping-pong player, Garfield!” Between jobs, Eddie Redmayne &

Redmayne also described a moment while he and his good friend, The Batman’s

Robert Pattinson, were both on production on their Warner Bros. films, and

Redmayne said he wasn’t able to recognize Pattinson at the studio’s gym

because of how intensely his longtime pal was working out.

Eddie was on Live with Kelly and Ryan in New York City Wednesday morning.

"There was a moment this year where I felt like as a dad, who played a wizard, I could

try and get some brownie points," he begins. "I gave Iris, my daughter, Newt's wand.

Which I thought was pretty exciting, and she's like 'Okay, thanks Dad.'...

I came back an hour later and she covered the thing in tinfoil, she'd made a little star

and made a fairy wand. And she's like, 'Now this is a wand,' " Redmayne says with

a laugh." (That) slightly undermined my brownie points."

Eddie recounted that his son Luke asked him if he was a real-life wizard.

"You have that sort of moral dilemma, like do I lie to my child? I find myself stuck

in the middle and he's like, 'No, you're either a wizard or you're not.' So I said 'Yeah

I am a wizard' and I did some sort of trick with a coin, the one magic trick I could do."

And he's like, 'That's not the kind of stuff you can do in the (Fantastic Beasts) trailer.

In the trailer, you can make stuff explode.' So I think he told his friends at school and

they asked me to do some of the stuff in the trailer and it was a bit of a letdown."

 Cast members of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore visited

the Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio Tour Tuesday 29th March 2022,

where they had a chat with Tom Felton and they answered fan questions.

Eddie Redmayne and Jude Law had a chat with Tom in Dumbledore's office.

Eddie on what Newt has learned from Dumbledore over the years: 

“I feel like sort of Dumbledore’s caught Newt out of his shell a little bit.

Newt’s someone that is most happy in his own company or the company

of creatures. He’s an introvert ...Gentle nudges and occasionally a shove...

Dumbledore’s kind of made him engage and entrusted him with stuff,

so he sort of I think in this film he sort of asks Newt to step up to being

a leader, and what I love is that Newt does it but in like most Newty

ways possible. Since he’s not quite sure how to be a leader but just

sort of vomited his way through it.”

An exclusive movie clip was shown in the live stream.

The cast has gathered next to the Hogwarts Express to answer fan questions.
