EE BAFTA nominations for The Trial of the Chicago 7

The nominations for EE BAFTA's were announced today.

The Trial of the Chicago 7 nominated in the Best Film,

Best Original Screenplay and Best Editing category.

Eddie Redmayne didn't get a nomination in the Best Supporting Actor category,

but we can root for the movie and wait for his appearance at the show.

The EE BAFTAs take place on the weekend of 10 and 11 April 2021,

and will be broadcast on the BBC.

30th Gotham Awards Ensemble Tribute awarded to the cast of The Trial of the Chicago 7

Congratulations to the cast of THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7 for

IFP’s inaugural Gotham Awards Ensemble Tribute!

In a newly created honor, the 30th IFP Gotham Awards saluted

The Trial of the Chicago 7 with the Ensemble Tribute.

The show was streamed live from Ciprian Wall Street tonight

(January 11, 2021).

The cast including Eddie Redmayne, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jeremy Strong, and

Sacha Baron Cohen recorded a message cut together from various locations.

“Half a century after the events of ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7,’ peaceful

protestors are again being met with tear gas…political gridlocks continue

to plague our own leaders,

 The echoes have been unmistakable, but if nothing else, they remind

us of the work that still has to be done in bridging the divide.

‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’ happened then but it’s happening

now and it’s destined to keep happening until America lives up

to its ideal of liberty and justice for all.” - Video here

The movie is now playing in select theaters in the US

and will be streaming on NETFLIX from 16th October.

Netflix will add more theaters in the U.S. and abroad throughout October,

expanding upon the film’s premiere on the service.

on 16th October 2020.

USA TODAY: 10 must-see new movies to stream while stuck at home...

It’s a set of slimmer fall film festivals that will launch in Venice, Toronto and New York.

There’s a total absence of Netflix movies and while there’s the occasional “Ammonite” (Neon),

“On the Rocks” (A24), or “Nomadland” (Searchlight), others held back in favor of unveiling

closer to the delayed awards season that ends with the Oscars on April 25, 2021. (IW)

Recently rewatched the movie on Prime Video. I didn't post much about

this film yet, so I decided to make a few gifs. Here's the first part.

There are so many amazing actors in this period drama. Mark Rylance, 

Kristin Scott Thomas, Nathalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Jim Sturgess,

Eric Bana, Benedict Cumberbatch, David Morrissey, and so on. (IMDB)

Mark Rylance portrays Sir Thomas Boleyn. He also worked with Eddie

in theater in 2002, he played Olivia in 'Twelfth Night', and I can't wait

to see them in their new film 'The Trial of the Chicago 7'. Eddie plays

Tom Hayden, Mark Rylance portrays defense lawyer William Kunstler.
