Met Gala 2014 - photos

On Monday night, the fashion elite descended upon the steps of the Metropolitan Museum in New York City to partake in the most stylish event of the year: the
2014 Met Gala!

This year, the glitterati decked out in a "White Tie and Diamonds" theme (how very James Bond!) to celebrate the premiere of the museum's fashion exhibit, "Charles James: Beyond Fashion," which is hosted by Vogue's very own Anna Wintour....

...It is widely judged to be the fashion world's most extravagant night out, wielding huge influence over trends on the high street. This year's red carpet graced by a host of celebrities including Lupita Nyong'o, Sarah Jessica Parker, Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian as well as industry VIPs and some of the wealthiest people in the world, each splashed out $25,000 (£15,000) on a ticket. Eddie Redmayne attended the event with his girlfriend Hannah Bagshawe.
